Four months down and only eight to go. It’s such a scary thought at how quick this year is going and along with the year moving quickly I am quickly discovering some new and old favourites of mine. April found me discovering both new and old makeup must haves.
- Maybelline Fit Me Matte+Poreless Foundation:
I struggle so hard to fall in love with a foundation, most foundations are either too dark or too light but this show stopper did exactly what it says. The coverage is medium to full coverage and does not look too cakey with a few layers, it blends into the skin quite nicely and the matte finish is definitely a bonus for us girls with oily skin.
2. Urban Decay Original Naked Eyeshadow Palette:
Out of all my palettes I have found that this is the palette I go to in the cooler months, I don’t know if it’s because it has both warm and cool tones or it’s just because it was one of my first high end purchases. If I do put eyeshadow on I just find that this is so versatile and easy to create different eye looks each time (even though I normally just use my goto look ha!).
3. NYX Retractable Eyeliner – Silky Cashmere
As a uni student with a part time job and obsessed with the internet I get very little sleep! I need to look awake and I found the perfect solution, this eyeliner. I place this eyeliner in my waterline and it instantly makes my eyes look wider and awake, it’s a nice rose gold colour and isn’t as noticeable compared to when people place white in their waterline. It’s quite subtle but the results are phenomenal.
4. Rimmel Super Curler Mascara
Who needs false lashes when this mascara is available. I suck at putting false lashes on (I’m learning slowly), so when I received this mascara I was super excited to try it out. As the name states it super curls your lashes, it is out of this world and if you have not used it, go now and buy it because I promise you, it is worth it. The wand is curved so it gets all of you lashes in one swipe, only a few coats and it’s like you have false lashes on without any of the hassle (or glue in your eye, yes this has happened to me).
5. Mode Matte Lip Cream – Hottie & Sleeping Beauty
I don’t own a lot of liquid lipsticks (I’m working on that) but the ones I do have a so drying and incredibly hard to get off, but these lip creams are beyond words and for the price ($3!!!!!) they are incredible. The formula of these lip creams are comparable to the NYX matte lip creams and they are half the price, there isn’t a wide range but I will be buying every colour because I can not get enough of these. The staying power is by far amazing, I find that they stay on after drinking and eating, I can kiss my boyfriend and it does not come off, after a few hours they do start to crumble but that is a given for the price you pay. As far as I know this brand is only available at Coles Supermarket and everything is $3.
That is a wrap up of my April Absolutes, I would love to hear what you have been loving this month and any products I should try out that could maybe be featured in upcoming blog posts.
Stay Strong, stay beautiful and be confident.
